Students living with a married spouse
Students living with a dependent or a separated spouse, in addition to others who qualify for council appointments, will contribute to the development of a policy that protects the rights of all members of the family to live together in a home. The study of family structures is vital for all families.
Students living with a parent (defined as any parent or guardian in the Maryland Department of Children and Families)
In addition to the three known available ways to become a council member, any eligible student will also have the option of having a partner as a partner with the parent and/or guardian. As with every other State Board of Education position, the first step in the application process is to request a Skilled Professional Commission. A Skilled Professional Commission must be available to meet all of the criteria of PARACLE. For more information about PCCs, visit www.paracelle.gov/arranges.
Housing and Family Services
Under the Housing and Family Services Act (H.R. 3132) the state provides a local housing fund for local housing programs. The state acts as the administrator of both the local and state Housing Funds, including the State Housing Funds. Each local housing fund is based on one specific policy:
The state’s General Fund will advance housing needs
The state will provide an additional, but smaller add-on to the state program
The state will provide an additional, but smaller add-on to the state program A local housing program may include additional available uses. Prior to 2006, only residents living with one shared household were eligible for a copy of the Homeschooling Assistance Program. However, in August 2010 the state passed an Act to expand the program and expand the budget. The following laws and procedures apply to housing, including the state’s Housing Funds:
Program Indefinite Support
In order to remain eligible, the student must live in the home of a governmental or private general public agency.
Admissions for parent and guardian
For parents and guardians, use of the federal public housing program does not apply to them. Other state programs are available to students in a limited number of ways.
Careers at the state level
To be eligible for the positions at the statewide level, students must be able to participate in a listless program that can become formal, permanent, or temporary. Transition programs are available to students in the same area.
To become a council member, students must have graduated from an advanced degree program
