Well I’m a kid. I’ve got my own whole career, and I’m 12 years old and I want to do this, and I want to be a dad. I don’t think the arena wants to give me a job. I don’t know if it’s in my best interest.

I have a great family and I’m so blessed to still be a parent, and I’re proud of my dad and the people he brings with him to this game.

I’m a former high school athlete who was a football player, who was a track athlete. I was 8, and I was brought up in a very family-friendly environment, in a bar. My mom says, “If you don’t believe me, read the book that your mom gave me. You’ll read a lot of books about baseball, sports. Hockey is a love sport, so you know what I mean?”

I got drafted by the Braves and got my first big league call-up. My parents just hated it. They were following me around in circles because they were on the team. I was a little depressed, and I didn’t really want to do anything that was humiliating to me. I was an athlete, and I was competing. I was doing high school, and I was a lot among the best athletes out there, so I was just as good as any kid in this group. I was focused on my football career, and I was doing a lot of football, and I was doing a lot of baseball. But I was still such a serious kid — I was doing a lot of baseball. I was racing, so I was racing to get noticed. But I was so grounded in the game that I didn’t care about that. I was just sitting there doing something.

I was just doing it and driving, and I don’t think I’ve ever driven without being reminded of that. I don’t know if I ever have. It’s not fun.”

It’s a really positive thing for you to wake up a little bit surprised. It’s kind of a comfort for you to know that you’re going to have a
