It’s hard for a person like me to pass on just how hard it is just to take my degree and to continue studying in college.

Do you think that asked questions about your degree will make you more effective?

I think that it will probably be easier if I ask questions about my education and also about my work performance and my career. If I ask questions about the work I do and what I’m working on, I will get a much better response.

What do you mean by “increasing your level of interest”?

I do this by asking the question with a high degree of interest. I want to ask about my degree, my past work, and how I managed to get to this point, not just what I got so far but why I’m here.

What’s your goal in getting you to this college degree?

I want to be a better person. I want to get to the university where I want to come from and become a better person. There will always be this need to improve myself, but it’s not something I want to just change my career.

How do you look at your college career?

I look at it as a career. You have to improve your life and then try to earn a living. I want to earn a living and then I try to get my degree.

What advice do you have for aspiring universities now that their students are studying computer science?

In the beginning I always checked to see if there was someone who was a computer scientist. We had an idea for a tech company and that was about to happen, so I gave my students a year to find a computer scientist that I knew. I spent most of that year trying to do my research. I had a lot of other people sometimes who wanted to do the research and I ended up working on that team. Then I thought, “I have to learn to do that.”

What are some tips you would give your students to get more exposure to computer science?

It’s hard to say that computer science is hard because there are so many things that can be learned that are not for everyone. Most people who know computers are in the realm of finance but you don’t want to call them the “loose cannon.” If somebody wants to check out the classics of mathematics, you can usually just get a copy of Mathematics 101. But if someone really wants to get serious about computer science, you have to be open to it and you have to make sure that you put your knowledge in context with people who understand it. That’s all.
