Microsoft has released a new version of its Reader app to users of Android and Windows phones which enables them to write documents to and from anything. The app has been downloaded over 1.4 million times, which means it’s a world-wide leader with over 60 million users around the world.

“The app has inspired a lot of new features in our application,” said Canard, who also works for Microsoft’s Office Services and Office 365. “We’ve seen a lot of interest from users in developing new features, and we’re finding new ways to do things with it. If you’re using mobile Safari or your tablet, you’re able to save the documents you have, so you don’t need to wait for another download when you’re ready.”

The application, which was first spotted by The Verge, now includes a new image for the document. It also includes a new text editor, a file manager and a backup option for saving documents.

The app alludes to the thought of having one of Microsoft’s cloud-based apps that can be installed on an Android phone. It only works with the Messages app, which Microsoft said it supports with its existing Outlook, Outlook.com and Outlook.com Plus apps. It’s based on Android and Windows Phone 8.1.

“I’m pleased Microsoft has finally announced the Windows Phone Reader app,” said Canard, who also works for Microsoft’s Office Services and Office 365.

“The new Reader app that we’ve got now lets you use your Windows Phone account and so many other apps on the Windows Store today,” he said. “We’re really excited about the new reader, and we hope that this will be a huge step forward in bringing we-can-write-intl-with-servers to us.”

The Windows Phone Reader app has a number of features. The app includes a cross-platform suite of free apps that are available like Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word, Firefox, OpenOffice, Google Reader, Microsoft

Qual is one of these free products that is available on both Windows phones and tablets. For a 32-bit version, users can download the Smart Reader app from the Windows Store.

“The name is unique and it has a different name – ‘Reader,’ which means ‘pre-generated, free and in-house,” Canard said.

“In the terms of the design, the reader is designed to be compatible with Microsoft Word and Office, so we think that’s some big deal.”

The Reader app also includes a customization option including a “normal” (PDF or PDFIF) image for style, color and text. The version also includes a sample email address and a custom note in the text to help users create and post their own style, which is stored in the app, not the email address.

The Windows Phone Reader app is available now at the following locations: Microsoft Store, Office 365, Oasis, Office 365 Pro, Office 365 and Office 365 Pro Connect. The app will be available to buy on October 12. Consumers can now buy the Reader app by calling 1-805-585-8888.
