Big Data Exchange enters Indonesian data centre market with joint venture deal
Jan Jusanovic, chief executive of Jain Data Initiative, said the new start-up would take the system by storm.
“We’re very pleased – we’ve worked closely with the new partner and they’re looking at the whole technological side of the system,” he said. “They’re looking at ensuring that there is no leakage or hybrid data transacting between different services at any given point in time.”
Jain Data Initiative recently launched the new service, which will enable users to exchange data in the country into their work-related data centres, allowing them to collect data from their bank accounts and other financial information.
The data will be used to create avatars for managing mobile apps, manage bank accounts and manage their accounts at other banks, which are stored and accessed through mobile devices and smart phones, the Jain Data Initiative said.
The new data centre will be built in Myanmar and will require a mining concession in the country, with further processing to be done in the future.
The financial market has been flooded with high-profile Chinese online retailers launched recently, fuelled by plummeting demand for international retailers.
The development comes as Economy Minister Suharto has hinted that the government might follow in the footsteps of China following the introduction of a crackdown on illegal online activity.
Last month, Prime Minister Modi announced the creation of a National Bureau of Audit (NBI) and said that the government would work towards nailing down the need for a centralized, biometric and online banking system.
The PTI has contacted Jain Data Initiative for comment.
