The Federal Bureau of Investigation has begun an investigation into the alleged email server used to communicate with Clinton’s former aide Huma Abedin.
This could come when the FBI agents present at the hearing are questioned about whether Clinton did not act on her campaign email setup as part of her tenure as Secretary of State.
In the emails, which were posted on a private server in her home state of Arkansas, Clinton’s aides and Clinton campaign officials discussed the transfer of emails at the request of a foreign government.
But the FBI notifies Congress that the server was turned over to the State Department.
Law enforcement sources with knowledge of the FBI investigation told AFP that last October, agents were looking into whether Clinton linked Clinton to a series of drone attacks in Pakistan.
Five of the attacks were carried out by militants operating under the alias of Her Majesty the Queen, according to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
The FBI has not shown any evidence to support this claim.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has called for a special prosecutor into the matter.
Clinton has denied that backing down from her support of drone strikes.
He said last year that he’s not too concerned about the drone war.
