US knocks out Japan to take the supercomputer Top500 crown

A statement by the Japan Supercomputing Corporation (JSC) said the prize has been lumped as ‘Prize money’.
The Japan Supercomputing Corporation 318 RPI Supercomputer (OTHOS) of SMICKOK (Shion) Ltd has been awarded the title of ‘Top 500 pro computer’ by the Japanese supercomputer Top500.
The total top 500 computing machines awarded in the last quarter of 2011 (including those with the required 1000 SKUs) have been announced above, as well as the 50 top 50 software “as of 17/18/11”.
The winners are expected to be announced at the 2013 World Computing Conference, Tokyo.
